Giving Dual Eligibles a Voice for Better Health

October 10, 2013 § Leave a comment

More than 10 million Americans are eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid. “Dual eligibles” have to navigate through a complicated maze of multiple doctors, medications and programs. They bounce in and out of emergency rooms, hospitals and nursing homes, experiencing poor care and unnecessary complications. In addition to the toll this takes on dual eligibles and their caregivers, the price tag for this ineffective care is more than $300 billion annually.

Voices for Better Health, a project of Community Catalyst, is partnering with advocates, equipping them with the resources and expertise necessary to establish a voice for dual eligibles in the policy debate in their states and at the federal level.

Learn more about the complications facing dual eligibles and what Voices for Better Health is doing to address them.
