Join Commonwealth Care Alliance in celebrating National Health Center Week. Health centers are critical to the wellbeing of many individuals in Massachusetts and around the country. According to the National Association of Community Health Centers:
- Community health centers serve over 24 million Americans at more than 9,000 delivery sites in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and U.S. territories.
- One in every 15 people living in the United States depends on their services.
- 75% of those who use community health centers are on Medicaid or are uninsured.
The roots of Commonwealth Care Alliance can be found in a network of community health centers in low-income communities across Massachusetts where we began to develop the care delivery innovations that are at the foundation of our current programs. With this in mind, we at Commonwealth Care Alliance applaud the important work done by community health centers, and we look forward to continuing our collaborations to help the medically vulnerable and underserved.
